Bibelot Shops to Join GoodThings Family of Stores
14th Jan 2019
Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. (Jan. 14, 2019)—Twin Cities Bibelot Shops will join the White Bear Lake-based GoodThings family of gift, kids, home, and clothing stores. A spring event is set for Saturday, April 13 at GoodThings-Bibelot locations to celebrate, and a grand re-opening is planned for September 2019.
Throughout the next several months, the Grand Avenue and Linden Hills Bibelot Shops will be renovated and revived with new inventory from GoodThings. The St. Anthony Park and Northeast Minneapolis Bibelot Shops will be closing. Bibelot staff have been invited to apply for positions at GoodThings at the Grand Avenue and Linden Hills locations.
In November of last year, Bibelot owner Roxana Freese announced plans to retire and close her chain of four Twin Cities Bibelot shops. Upon hearing news of Freese’s retirement, long-time friends and mother-son GoodThings ownership team, Tyler and Sharon Conrad, immediately began discussing how they could carry on Bibelot’s traditions and serve its communities in a similar spirit.
“What a natural fit it was for GoodThings to merge with Bibelot Shops,” said GoodThings owner Tyler Conrad. “Both stores were founded by local business women who were ahead of their time in sourcing distinctive, local, handmade and environmentally responsible goods. With a combined 99 years in the Twin Cities retail scene, both brands have not only become iconic places to shop, but pillars of their communities,” Conrad added. “We’re committed to combining the best of Bibelot and the best of GoodThings to carry on the legacy of offering the Twin Cities’ best selection of treasured gifts, clothing, and home décor.”
“I am delighted that GoodThings will be combining much of the Bibelot tradition with their own as they move into the future. It is truly a wonderful fit,” said retiring Bibelot owner Roxy Freese.
Bibelot-brand gift cards will be valid only until Thursday, Feb. 28, so gift card holders are encouraged to use their remaining balances and take advantage of Bibelot’s current Retirement Sale discounts throughout the next several weeks.
